Sisterhood of the Traveling Stamps?

I carved my first stamp. It's rough and rustic, but I like the little mistakes at the top where I didn't get all the foam cut away. It looks all cartoon-y.

It's for Michelle Ward's Street Team. It's not quite finished. I might carve out the crooked front door a bit, but I was experimenting with the door. Time for bed, but I'll keep working over the next few days. It's a great challenge and now that I've tried it, I feel like the suspense of what may become of a stamp is too fun to ignore!

I love images of houses and buildings and villages, so I think I may just fill my mobile art kit with foam stamps and erasers and blocks, and carve a whole bunch of them while I'm traveling. How fun!

EDIT: It's the next night, and I carved a new stamp tonight. I've been toying with the idea of carving this eraser.

So, I did:

It was so fun!!

There may just be no way to stop me.

Chris - carving while away is a great idea. You can have all your images on the blocks and then carve away while sitting on the beach in Hawaii. Just be careful when flying with your tools - make sure theya re in your checked luggage. Don't want to have to come post bail for you.

Hey!
You get an "A" for focused attention and the award for most resourceful.
Love the little image too.

My favorite thing about carving is the fact that mistakes look really good.

Carve on!

Great carving, and I can see you with a whole collection of these. But you know my fav part of your whole post? The title - that just cracked me up LOL

Love them both, but I am amazed at how the foam stamp looks like a woodblock print! Delightful!

I love your row of houses. Carving on erasers - uh oh - there go the erasers (just when they thought they were safe). lol. Nice work. Ariel

I just love the idea of doing a whole city or village of carved stamps. Looks like you are well on your way to doing that. Such a great idea. Thanks for sharing that.

I love the idea of a crooked door! Very creative indeed!!! I need to let go of perfection and reality a bit myself(in life as well as in art, lol!).
