Representative of Hope

Go here and LOOK at this fabulous art doll, the result of the Pink Artists' Project, being auctioned to benefit breast cancer research and awareness. Each contributing artist fashioned a square to honor a loved one, and lovely Monica took those honors and created a magnificent representative of limitless love, hope and dedication. Monica has meticulously photographed every inch of the doll, as well as giving us views into the evolution of its realization. This doll will be featured in Art Doll Quarterly, but you can see it and read about it now.
The purple heart in one of the squares above is my dedication to my mother, Rose Marie Hand, b. August 6, 1918, d. May 12, 1985 (Mother's Day), of complications from lung cancer. She was my angel.

Chris you are a huge part of this doll, your story, your love for your mother... an angel who no doubt helped to guide this project into reality. Perfectly said.

Adjectives are funny things, my sister told me she ran out of these to explain our doll but I believe you have done so wonderfully.

Our doll ships out tomorrow to ADQ. Let's all send her off for her safe journey...one step closer to our goal. YOU ROCK chica, I'm blessed by your friendship. The sweetest reward is friendship. xo, Monica
